Brown Crab (Cancer Pagurus) or edible crab is well known for its distinct reddish, brown coloured shell. Harvested using traps and pots around the British Isles, Orkney and the Isle of Man mainly by a small inshore fleet, this crab is highly valued for its sweet delicate claw meat and rich brown meat.
